Added a bunch of new beers to list of beers all thanks to the Beer fest 2013. Good music and good people were all partaking in the 80+ brewers that were in in attendance this year.

Wildlife Pictures

Ah spring is finally here and we can enjoy some outdoor activities. One of my favorite things to do is walk around a zoo and look at all the animals. Birds are singing and flowers are popping out everywhere. It should make for some good photos.

Mindless Shuffle to a Dead End. 

Today I received a letter that one of my photographs has been accepted into the  Harrisburg Art Association’s 85th International Juried Exhibition.  It's one of the first images I have created where I went into a totally different direction when it comes to making a image.  The opening for this exhibition on May 18th from 6pm-9pm. The Exhibition is open to the public from May 17th to June 20th. If you are not yet a member or fan of my Facebook  page check it out for more details and updates. 

In my normal gallery fashion this image is going to be printed on metal and it will be limited to 10 and priced at $275.00 for the duration of the gallery and afterwards will go back to $325.00. You can email me if you wish to get one of these prints at the special price.

Sometimes a ooops shot can be saved.

This last weekend I headed down to Middle Creek Wildlife preserve to photograph the snow geese and any other water fowl that happened to be there. On the way there out in a field I saw a small group of snow geese chilling. So I grabbed my camera and my telephoto lens(70-200) and took some shots...I was so exited to get the shots that I only checked to make sure my aperture was in the right setting....but not my shutter speed. I though I had it in aperture priority instead I had it in manual and the shutter was a bit slow..

ooops...

But....hold on..

I liked the way the flock of birds were moving and I had to do something with the shot...couldn't let it sit on the hard drive and collect virtual dust. So opened it up in Lightroom 4 and started to play with it...1 hour later and half a bag of pistachios...voila!

Sometimes you can turn a oops shot into something interesting.

17th Annual Millennium Music Conference & Showcase

The 17th Annual Millennium Music Conference & Showcase was a sucess it was held February 14-17, 2013 at the Radisson Hotel & Convention Center (Camp Hill) and 30 showcase venues in and around Harrisburg, PA. 

The conference featured two afternoons of music business panels, clinics, workshops, networking, day stage, one-on-one mentoring & demo listening sessions, and industry trade show. In the evenings the event celebrates new music with three nights of showcase performances featuring over 300 original acts at 30 live music venues spread thru out central PA. Porsche Style & Design Exhibit

I love what i do....This Friday I got the chance to go to the AACA Museum in Hershey and check out the display of Porsche cars and products designed by Porsche it was a amazing experience to see 911's 939's and other vehicles from Porsche.

It's the Holidays

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. I've been busy getting my catalogs in order on my down time and finishing up some projects for a upcoming gallery. And trying to finish the 68 vw Convertible finished in time for spring...busy busy..I need a clone to help me out...

Right and Wrong

Seven years.

My grandmother says that things go in seven year cycles.

Seven shit years followed by seven years of triumph.

Seven year chapters of relationships.

You see, my grandmother was married for over fifty years. She’s clearly experienced enough to dispel this wisdom.

Me, however, I’m still in those seven year chapters.

Sold speakers for seven years. Followed by seven years in Harrisburg.

Seven, karmically retributive years.

But in our cycles of life, there are things which we pick up along the way…some from mistakes we’ve made, some from lessons we’ve learned from peers or elders and others yet are life experiences which we take things away from to keep in our moral-pocket the rest of our lives.

Here’s a list. Nothing scientific, but just a handful of items I try to remind myself of daily (or as necessary) to get me through the toughest of times. Feel free to add to this little project..as I’m sure we can share a thing or two with one another.

1. It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.

In business. At a restaurant. With your mother on the phone. To your son or daughter. I’ve found that you can get virtually any message across to a listener if you simply say it kindly.

I’ve seen this rule be ignored by countless people I’ve encountered. Particularly bosses or figures of authority. “Ask nicely” I was always taught. No need to be a dick, right?

2. Attitude is everything.

Great attitude = great results.

Bad attitude = bad results.

I’ve seen this in action and have caught myself when I’ve just generally got a bad attitude about a situation. Life’s short. No need to sweat the small stuff, right?

3. Regardless of what your mother said, a moderate about of sex, drugs and rock and roll are just as essential as your daily multivitamin.

Maybe more “sex” and “rock and roll” than “drugs” (depending on your definition). And perhaps it’s what I do for a living..but I can’t go a week without at least a little of each of those three items.

4. Be nice to girls.

I’m always astounded when I read in the paper about someone physically hurting a woman. Maybe it’s just how I was raised, but it just seems like there are things that one wouldn’t need to be taught. If she’s really that tough to deal with, walk away. But always take the high road.

And on that note..

5. Bros before Hoes.

Women come and go. But a bro is always supposed to be there. So fellas- ya’ll should know that if your best bud breaks up with his girl, she is, forever, off limits. And if you break that rule, you’re a douchebag and a cheat for life. It’s just another one of those things that one would think that dudes would respect and unconditionally know…but unfortunately, that is not the case.

6. Hold the door for the person behind you.

There’s a rule to this though…I generally use the twenty-foot-rule. If I’m entering a building and there’s someone behind me who is walking at a moderate pace, I’ll hold the door for them. It’s just courteous. Then again, if they’re lollygagging along, all bets are off.

7. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

If I were to discount everyone in Harrisburg prior to meeting them myself based on the opinions of others, I’d likely not have any friends. People make bad decisions from time to time and leave a bad taste in the mouths of some. Occasionally, it happens. But I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt until they wrong me personally.

That said…

8. Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice…shame on me.

Once a thief always a thief? Perhaps. But generally, the ‘one strike’ rule tends to hold up.

That’s it. It’s by no means a complete list. And I’m sure I’ll add to it.

Sweet road trip.

I think this trip was very productive. I even managed to impress myself. Let's see Started in Los Angeles then when down to Joshua Tree national park. After a day there hit the road to my friends place in Vegas while shooting along the way on RT.66. From there I spent a day milling around Death Valley... side note rent a jeep.

Hit the the Redwood forest after that and San Francisco,then back to LA to shoot the shuttle Endeveour as it crawled thru the streets of LA. Now I have some ideas I need to finish on these 2 final days of the trip and when I get back home I'll have tons to edit and sort thru as well as assignments for the magazine....whew.

California Trip.

So far this trip out to California has been a success..worked with some new clients that loved the photos I created for them. Been to places I have never been too...even though I lived out here for many years..Next stop on this trip is Vegas maybe Yosemite if time allows.

No time.....

Sorry posting has been a bit erratic. In the process of building the new studio and moving into the remodeled house after 6 months has made things a bit hectic.

Was on vacation.

Just returned from a nice long vacation to the west coast....Hit the mountains,Desert, and the coast....Have tons of images to go thru so stay tuned.
