Weekend is here....so is a new lens.

This weekend is looking to be nice (weather wise) just received a new lens from lensrentals.com. It's a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 zoom lens that i'm considering buying. I'll be renting the Canon L 24-75 f2.8 for comparison later and see how they both stack up.I've read and heard good things on both lenses, it's just a matter of cost. 600 bucks vs 1000 bucks...so let's see who comes up on top.

Photoshop World Expo is done...Good times....

Closed up the expo in Washington Dc.  Lots of new info and great lighting ideas for some upcoming photography projects. Spent some time at the vendors booths and sat in on a few demonstrations. My Favorite thing to do at these expos is to shoot at the booths were lighting vendors have models demonstrating the lighting setups. Bought a few new items to use on photo shoots. Anywho,till next time. 

It's that time of year.

Comicon season that is. Kicking off this year in Pittsburg pa with steelcitycon.com, Anthony Daniels who played C3p0 in star wars will ONLY be Appearing SATURDAY 10am-6pm! I'll try to get there Friday night. But I'll be staying till Sunday.

This week needs to fly by.

It's been a crazy week.

First, A big thank you to the guys at our local fire dept. they came quickly and put the fire out before it got out of control.

For those of you who don't know our family home caught fire around 12:30 on wednsday morning 2/15/2012 everyone got out safe including our 13 guinea pigs including the girls that we were fostering.

Im in the process of getting stuff for the kids. And trying to provide some stability and distraction. The biggest loss was my photo gear. Camera body,lenses,studio lights,drives,cf cards. Everything. The cause of the fire is still under investigation I have some ideas but I won't jump to any conclusion yet.

But I'm keeping my cool for the sake of the kids and so that I can get back to work asap.

Sunday Jan-08-2012. Hitting the road with the Harrisburg Camera Club to Washington DC. Gonna take advantage of the time to redo some shots that I want to capture. Hopefully everything goes well.

Final shoot of 2011

Amazing night with some amazing talent and met some very cool people at HMAC. Mike Banks hosted the final open mic night of 2011 and it was a blast. Took some amazing shoots and met some interesting people. Which has been happening on a weekly basis. Till next year!! woot.

Ok....today was a long day. Have some very cool shots from Photo Plus Expo...Will have them up later....Had a chance to shot in the same setup as Sara France and came out with some really good shots that have inspired some new ideas. Also listening to Rick Sammon speak is inspiring as always...That dude rocks... Peace out for now.

Road trip!!..

Trip to the Sideling Hill Tunnel.

Took a ride down to Fulton County,PA and checked out one of the old turnpike tunnels.

Sideling Hill Tunnel is one of three original Pennsylvania Turnpike tunnels abandoned (this one in 1968) after two massive realignment projects. The others are nearby Rays Hill Tunnel, and further west, the Laurel Hill Tunnel. It was less expensive to realign the Turnpike than to bore a second tube for four lane traffic. Sideling Hill Tunnel is 6,782 feet (2,067 m) long. It was the longest of the original tunnels on Pennsylvania Turnpike. The Ray's Hill Tunnel and Sideling Hill Tunnel are now part of the Pike2Bike Trail. Together, the two tunnels as well as the roadway are commonly known as the Abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike.
